Emma Holliday lives in the North East and paints throughout the UK. Working predominantly in acrylics, her paintings are vibrant and expressive, capturing the vivacity of a moment in time.
Holliday paints outside, often cycling or walking to find the right vista. Working directly from life enables her to capture the mood and atmosphere on that particular day. Holliday enjoys the challenges of painting in all weathers and in diverse or unusual places. Painting from life or from sketches she has made, there is always more to the paintings than the landscape or the still life depicted; the brushwork, colours and subject are an expression of the artist’s emotion, containing elements of events and people in her life, both past and present.
Emma Holliday and her work have been featured in Artists and Illustrator, Living North, The Crack, Culture Mag, The Journal and other publications. Her paintings have been exhibited internationally and are in many private and public collections. More about Emma Holliday here.
