Colin has worked as an artist since leaving school to join a London studio, which he left after four years, to become freelance. He paints in both Oils and Watercolour and has been a member of the RI for 23 years. He first visited the Dales nearly 50 years ago and like most visitors fell in love with its hills and moors and the paintings on display were produced after a stay in a cottage in Wensleydale a couple of years ago.
His starting point is often the way the light falls on the landscape transforming it, heightening the colour, making the ordinary look extraordinary.
