The artist describes this original painting as follows:
‘Combining elements of Abstract Expressionism, which has always been a major influence on my work, with the wild weather of North Yorkshire, this painting explores expressive brushwork, texture and a gestural charcoal line. I like to experience the landscape in all weathers and bring that to my painting. My conservation work with the North York Moors National Park allows me to understand the land from a different perspective and enriches the artwork I create.’
