Richard Bawden RWS, NEAC, RE (1936- ) was born in Braintree, Essex, the son of the artist and illustrator, Edward Bawden and Charlotte Epton. He trained at Chelsea School of Art, St Martins School of Art (1954-7) followed by the Royal College of Art School of Engraving. His work is predominantly in watercolour, linocut and etching showing scenes of domestic interiors and gardens, revelling in atmosphere, oddity, patterns and the austere. He has exhibited widely including regularly at the RA Summer Show. His work can be found in the collection of the V&A, Ashmolean and Government Art Collection amongst others.
