We walked from home to Hazelwood Castle which is one of our favorite local walks. Hazelwood Castle is a lovely welcoming place to stop for a cup of tea or more.
To get there, we pass through this beautiful woodland. The tall trees provided a lovely autumnal scene, the forest floor was carpeted with a rich aray of fallen leaves in shades of red, orange, and gold, crunching softly beneath our feet. Rays of sunlight dance through the trees, casting long dappled shadows on the forest floor. Swaying gently in the breeze, the tree branches were adorned with colourful leaves that shimmered in the soft sunlight filtering through the canopy.
A deer ahead of us was camouflaged by the autumn colors, silently waiting. If she doesn’t make a sound, maybe we won’t see her.
We saw lots of deer that day, bouncing through the forest. It’s always such a special and rare moment to see them.
